Posted September 22, 200816 yr I'm having an issue with a Windows 2008 Std (x86 install) server that I recently put in place of an aging Windows 2000 file server. After I renamed the original server to a new name and changed the IP. I then renamed the new 2008 server to the name of the old server and gave it the old IP. After rebooting I try to logon as a domain account and it stays forever at "Please wait for the user profile service". I can logon as the local admin without an issue. Also the shares are completely accessible to domain users and my Backup Exec server has no problem connecting to it? Any thoughts on what is going wrong. Thank you in advance, Sean
