Guest ajhiker Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 I am running an Acer Aspire 6920 running Vista 64. Altogether sound and well designed. I inserted an SD card in the built-in slot. Device was detected It was working great! Tried two other SD cards that had worked before. Same result! Removed &reinstalled the driver, first with the oem version and then generic Vista 64 driver, neither worked. Updates from MS has hosed my SD Reader: JMicron JMB38X Flash Media Controller Moving ahead is good. Moving ahead and then back, brings me, even a dummy die hard loyalist as I, to face the facts and a choice. Linux rather than Vista 64? When I go to Linux, it is for good. Mr Bill, What do you think do should do? I hear a lot of your employees have been switching to Linux. Is that true? I had been avoiding switching to Linux. I kept telling myself something good will come of Microsoft! But with all the upgrade charges for new versions and all the goof ups... , I feel really stupid for putting up with Miscrosoft for this long! Mr Bill has driven us up on the rocks soo many times! If MS where a donkey, and gottcha's where gas, the donkey would have no choice but to be shaped like a 4 passenger hot air balloon ! Mr Bill has gotten far too much of my money in his pocket already. Mr Bill has enought of my profits in his back pocket to buy 100s of Life Vests. I am one quarter turn from flushing Mr Bill. If my ship goes down due to computer problems, I'll Use The Penguin For Floatation! Because Windows Don't Float ! Mr Bill You're Fired ! Now where is that Linux disk?..... -- ajhiker Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com Quote
