Dear All, I got Quickbooks 2002 running ok under Windows 7 (Seven) thanks to the tips in the posts above. I'm pretty sure the same tricks work also under Vista. If I may summarize 1) Before running the installer (maybe \qbooks\setup.exe, as on my CD) make sure you click Properties and under the Compatibility tab activate Run in XP SP2 Compatibility Mode, and Run as Admin 2) Run the installer (to be sure, right click and run as admin) 3) Say yes, go ahead to all warnings After having done this, go to the program folder probably C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks Pro and repeat step 2 for qbw32.exe (the file that launches QB2002) 4) After having done this, the program splash screen came up but the program still shut down instantly. But Geeboh gave the solution: run (again, as always, right click the file, Run as Admin) the post-installation file "reboot.bat" which you'll also find in the program folder. It forces registration of a number of files which under XP would have been done automatically but is held up by Vista / Seven because of lacking security privileges. That did it, happy $$$ saving! -- asieders Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com Quote
