Sure, just as one only needs one good backup or disk image. When you

*do* need one, your chances of having one-in-five are better than your

chances of having one-in-one.

Please don't feed the trolls, especially that troll.

You are so stupid that you do not know it yourself. Winston and I speak

often since

we are friends. I use Norton AV which costs more than you PC and you

have no idea

what Norton is. Norton for the Enterprise is excellent while the version

not. You just showed up yourself as a real Troll with that post you did.

Hi Dave,

I just heard back from Norton, and You were right.

They said "Yes" to your idea :)

Below is a copy of their reply.

Thank you for giving me a tip. I think I might try this.

Meg

If you delete the System restore points, it will increase your scan speed.

Please follow the steps given below to delete the system restore points.

1. Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Click Disc

Cleanup

2. Now launch this utility and click More Options tab. Under which click

System Restore and followed by that click Clean Up tab a message will popup

-Are you sure you want to delete all but the most recent restore point?Click

Yes then OK.

3. Finally another message will popup-Are you sure you want to perform

these actions?Click Yes.

Now, all the System Restore points except the most recent one are cleaned.

As a result there will be more free space in hard disk.

Sometimes one has to ask for help, so I 'borrowed' an

Enterprise version of Norton to test it.

Many commentators say that.

Your friend Andrew Taylor uses Norton 360 I believe (at least, he did)

but not once did I see/hear you recommend that he use something else.

There's that 'we' *again*.

Exactly who *are* 'we'? The rest of your team? Good guys or *bad* guys?

> Just to tell you that my Power Supply costs more than any of your

That would tie in with you having a very expensive and fast Internet

connection (still a T3?). I'm not quite sure why it is relevant here.

> Idiot extraordinaire is what you are .LOL

You are entitled to your opinion.

My use of Norton AV is what prompted my exclusion from Aumha, which as

you well know, is the *real* 'home' of PA Bear (aka Robear Dyer). I

found that 'interesting', especially as subsequently he lied (saying

that I had been banned by an ISP, when this is false) and then he

refuses to communicate further. Such behaviour is irrational!

When one goes to http://aumha.net/ there is an unusual Favicon shown for

the URL in the address bar. Tell me, what does that symbol represent?

Anyone?

David, you are *well* aware that malware can (and does) reside in the

System Restore Cache ready, and able, to pop back and re-infect a

machine all over again - whenever it so chooses (or is prompted so to do

by outside agencies).

In my opinion, and as agreed by Norton, I cannot see *any* reason for

not resetting the Restore facility from time to time.

I'm sure Meg would find it helpful if you were to explain *why* you

think it is a *BAD* idea. Will you do that?

**

Whilst I here, on a separate point, on your website here

http://uploadmalware.com/vendors.php you say ....

"If you do not work in the anti-malware industry or are a well known

security expert access will not be given."

Why, please, will you not permit "well known security experts"?

That hints at a suggestion that they might discover something you'd

rather they not find, doesn't it? Just seems odd to me. One might have

thought good guys would welcome help from experts! )

Maybe you have misplaced your spectacles, so I'll repeat what I said

before:-

"I have added another group so that you may have access to a wider range

of expertise. I am *not* a computer guru, just a user like you!"

Other folk may consider that your recommendation to remove a paid-for

product, which is successfully used by tens of thousands of people

around the world, a somewhat foolish course of action.

You have referred to '...winston' as your friend - yet you seem not to

have dissuaded *him* from using NIS. He's now an MVP. Surely an MVP

wouldn't use a sub-standard product, would they?

I think you may have another, secret, agenda, Mr Foldes.
