Guest René Vinding Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 I have the exact same problem, except on Windows 7. I was running Windows XP and IE8 and never had the problem. When my new computer arrived with Windows 7 (build 7600) and IE8, the problems began. Originally it was several times a day, but after changing the "Delete browsing history" options, it happens less frequently. After much hair-pulling and screaming, I have finally managed to find the pattern. Every time I install a Windows Defender definition update, Internet Explorer refuses to acknowledge the existing cookies. I hope the solution is to disable Windows Defender completely, and install Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware instead. The $25 is worth it, especially since Windows Defender creates such a mess. Anyone else who can confirm my findings? And better yet, anyone with a solution? -) "Bill" wrote: > I have a number of cookies I set for various websites which save > user-id information, page defaults used by the web page, etc. Once I > set the cookies the various websites I use continue to recognize them > and they all work fine for the remainder of the day, even though I may > close and re-open IE8 a number of times.
