This is nearly a year after these posts (March 1, 2010). I just brought an

 

older Pentium 4 computer pack on line. It has been sitting for over a year.

 

I upgraded the Windows XP to SP3 and downloaded about 50 updates. All of the

 

hardware updates and most of the software updates are installed.

 

 

 

I noticed today that my Explorer 8 menu tool bars are blacked out, just as

 

described above. I tried everything I could think of, and then tried

 

changing the themes (I never use anything but the Classic Windows theme. I

 

changed it ti Windows XP theme, it changed and fixed the problem. I changed

 

it back to Classic and it is now back to normal.

 

 

 

Yes, I'd say there is a bug here, maybe from SP3? Or one of the many other

 

updates? This is very strange.

 

 

 

Anyone else find an answer to this??
