SD Card Optimize for Performance doesn't work?

I have a Lenovo T400, just reloaded it to factory and for some reason it now

will not retain the setting of optimizing for performance for the sd card...I

select it from the policies menu in device manager, it refreshes the drive

and I go back to verify it's selected and it's set to optimize for quick

performance again...I briefly displayed some insanity by trying it over and

over a few times...same thing...even tried reapplying SP3 - same thing.
