Vista system tray icons

Have you noticed that system tray icons are sometimes set for "Hide

When Inactive" but appear anyway?

 

Once I put in my headphones and a system tray icon for the soundcard

appeared which is normal. But after rebooting, the same icon

appeared. The next time after THAT, it hid itself as it's supposed

to.

 

I also inserted my camera yesterday so that Safely Remove Hardware

appeared in the system tray, but the next reboot, it appeared again

although I had removed the camera okay. If I click on it, it offers

items for E and F which are removable drives I've never used. The

camera was labeled as G.
