Guest RealCat Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Hello. We have put all the different sorts of compilers in a network drive on a Windows-based PC, and using them to compile source codes on other machines in the network by directly executing the compilers from the network drive. The advantage is that we don't have to install those many compilers on each and every PC, but the disadvantage is slow compilation. So we are looking for some ways to accelerate it. The drive size is about 180 GB, but I guess relatively small portion of them is frequently used but they are scattered in many directories. Is there any way to let Windows automatically cache most accessed files inside RAM as much as there are free RAM space? Well, I don't know. If you have any better idea and suggestions I would like to hear from you. Thank you. Quote
