Since as you say one of the flaws has been around since 1999 and it has not

been discovered till recently, How do you know that ubumtu is not loaded

with the same type serious flaws? The simple answer is you don't ! Also

don't you think anyone with a nat router no matter what he or she is running

as a op system would be fine? Once again you simply state that ubumtu is the

answer when once again you do not really know! We all hope and pray that all

ubumtu systems are found to have critical flaws in them so you will shut the

f**k up once and for all! People are tired of hearing your same old drivel

that Ubumtu is the future when you really have no frickin idea! I am sure it

will not be windows as we know it but it is not what we once knew anymore

anyways! All computers have problems you dumb ass! They are after all made

by humans!

Windows 7, Alias, Windows 7. More copies will be are already sold now -

*before GA* - than the entire Ubuntu install for the next ten years. LOL I

don't know why I even bother answering you as Linux simply doesn't count on

the desktop. I understand it is being used as a web and file server, but

apparently even there it is losing out to Windows which does a better job.

So maybe I am clueless, clueless for answering anything about Linux. I saw a

copy of Linux on a laptop once, just once, about two or three years ago. I

hadn't seen a copy on another desktop (not laptop) for about ten years

before that when I saw a copy of CorelLinux in action. It's dead on the

desktop, Alias, or maybe never really existed there, at least in this

country. I know I've never seen it other than the two occasions over a span

10 to 15 years .. and it's not for a lack of seeing desktops, I can assure

you.

My apologies Saucy,

Another fraudulent piece of garbage information, given out by a fraud!

Perhaps Alias is a woman -)

Perhaps he meant to spell it that way and was directing it at Alias in a

more direct, personal way.

So you've seen -- but never used -- a Linux desktop twice and years ago

and you also claim to be an expert on the modern distros. No more need

be said other than you're CLUELESS and have totally swallowed the FUD,

hook, line and sinker.

This particular install of Ubuntu has been on this and another machine

since December 2006. Not one crash or glitch. Not one. I have updated it

to new versions without clean installing and it runs faster now than it

did in 06.

Alias

Great your lonely install has been up so long. Have you play Command &

Conquer Red Alert 3 on it? It's fun.

Let me elaborate: to be honest with you, I have installed several copies of

Linux and attempt to get FreeBSD running as well - all out of curiosity -

and each time disappointed with the unworkability. FreeBSD just did its

version of the BSOD. "Out there" though, I've not seen nary a Linux on the

desktop / laptop save the two I mentioned.

The guy who had it on the laptop came over to me and asked me if I could

help him. When he plugged in his USB mouse, nothing happened. I just said

sorry, 'could be anything. I felt like saying: Why don't you get an OS that

works?

Come on, you must admit that was funny. You must have a sense of humour,

you use Ubuntu.

Why would I be? I'm not an citizen of the United States, so I do not vote in

the elections there.

But as it is, I like Sarah Palin as a television personality. I also like

the SNL skits about her too - they're funny and that Tina Fey has the

impersonation almost spot on. Politically, I think she (Sarah Palin) is a

bit immature and was thrown to the sharks and was in over her head. But she

seems honest, not a war monger at heart, and would do her best should she

become President.

I also like Obama as a television personality, although I am anti-abortion

so would have issues with politically supporting him if I were a a citizen

of the United States. I like him for visiting Canada - he was a big hit here

and a friendly and nice man. It's clear he is sincere and is doing at least

what he thinks is right. I do like that he wants to reform health care in

the States, but I know that is a big challenge now with the huge debt and,

what, with the schemes the banksters devise against the tax payers there. As

well, the military in the United States is over-extended and over-size and

is too much to support - larger than all the other militaries of the world

combined. I don't know if it is feasible to have universal health care in

the States at this time because, AFAICT, as there are pressing financial

issues that probably should be dealt with first. I think they could be

laying the ground work now, but implementing it would be very expensive.

It's not for no reason we have high taxes in Canada - and that's without a

vast debt and gigantic military.

Alias, when there was a realistic attempt to create a what I thought was a

Canadian OS I installed it - CorelLinux - and I tried to get it to work. But

Corel dropped it. 'Glad they did - as it turns out, it wasn't really all

that Canadian anyway. I'm loyal to my country (and try to express that in

real life), you should be too.

But you'd rather run some dying commie thing out of the Eastern Bloc. Even

Russia's given up on communism, Alias, you probably know that.

And you might try a little bit of loyalty to the land of the free - it would

do your heart good.
