dave.webb Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Hi all. I've been testing Network Load Balancing on my new installations of Windows Web Server 2008 and can only seem to get it to work properly when the Windows firewall is off. I've checked that the exceptions are enabled, and they are, but still I get 'Host unreachable" in the NLB Manager when it tries to connect to the other server in the cluster. When the firewall is off it connects. I can still access both servers from outside using the cluster IP so it must be working, but I don't know if I need to add additional exceptions for the heartbeats or something. Any ideas welcome. Many thanks, Dave Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted August 28, 2008 FPCH Admin Posted August 28, 2008 You'll probably have to open the ports. Windows Firewall on 2008 is real picky about exceptions. I had to allow the connection to the program and also open up the ports used. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
dave.webb Posted September 2, 2008 Author Posted September 2, 2008 Hi, thanks for getting back to me. Do you know which ports are required and if they are TCP/UDP? Thanks, Dave Quote
