Guest SteveS Posted September 6, 2009 Posted September 6, 2009 I use a desktop & laptop (both XP-HE) and I have shared files/printer between them for several years using a wired/wireless router. In July I lost the ability to share between them, though both can connect to the internet through the router/network. When I Explore the desktop's Network folders, it can be seen with its shared files in the established workgroup - the laptop is not visible When I Explore the laptop's Network folders I see the established workgroup, but nothing shows up in the workgroup and I get the " is not accessible. You might not have permission ... " error message. Note: while it may be just coincidence this problem occurred concurrent with a new Vista machine connecting to the network. The Vista machine works fine with the network and the desktop, but I have lost the ability to share files/printer with my XP laptop. Quote
