I have some Windows XP workstations that I need to remove from a windows 2003

domain and join them to a new Windows 2008 domain. Is there an easy and quick

way to keep their existing user profile after I join the workstions to the

new domain so their desktop settings, favorites and applications look and

work the same? I do not want to use roaming profiles as the servers are in

different locations.

Can I:

1) join the workstations to the new domain

2) login as the new user (to create a new profile)

3) Copy the users original profile over the newly created profile?

or

make a copy of the default user profile, copy the original user's profile

over the default profile and let the new user login to the new domain getting

the default user profile which is really his orginal.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Lenny
