Posted August 25, 200915 yr YAH !! The error was persistent and nothing seemed to be wrong. SFC reported no errors and chkdsk same I did the Registry tweak and found 5 (FIVE) user profiles in addition to the ones I created. Deleted them and Backup is now running with no problems This is a Dell 1720 running Vista Home premium. Coincidentally (?????) Dell support had used their remote access to repair this machine online 5 times....I wonder said Alice ?? Peter -- peterwil0
