May I ask you to tell me what's the right group to search for help about

this situation please?

Windows Server 2003, used for development, at office under

authenticated http proxy.

Network/proxy is put down each night, form 22:00 to 7:00 (more or

less).

I tested Teamviewer to access and control this pc over the internet

without problems, if left switched on and authenticated.

problems:

- if left switched on when the proxy/network goes down at evening,

then all proxy authentications have to be done again, only way to

avoid this is to hibernate the pc before the net goes down, and switch

it on when it's up

- teamviewer is not free on server systems

solutions (where I need help):

- install something where I can save the proxy username/password and

makes the proxy transparent to all the system, does anything like this

exists? I'm so bored about putting passwords in for each application

that accesses the internet, IE, Firefox, autoupdates etc etc

- the same magic proxy-hiding software would be great to stop

connections to proxy at night so avoid account locking

- auto-hibernate the pc at night and autostart at morning

- find another software for remote control other then Teamviewer that

works

- alternatively I'm seriously considering using Win7 on the system,

that should be supported by teamviewer and would be good on a

development/testing machine, with the old winServer system virtualized

Even if I feel confortable with all solutions I'm writing here, I was

still not able to solve the first point, that is the "proxy avoiding"

software.

Any opinions are of course welcome before I start doing big changes on

the system.
