RAS 2k8 problem

I have a stand alone server set up not connected to a domain nor is it a domain controler. I can get a remote desktop to it with out any problem. However, i'm having difficulty establishing a VPN connection to it.

I'm looking for a by the numbers (1,2,3 step) guide to configuring the server for remote access. My connection always say's "No problem on my end..." but it never get s to the server.
