emrdoc Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 I am a new forum member here needing information on server hardware. I am installing an electronic medical records program in a small one-doctor office that runs on a dedicated server. Here are the system requirements per the program: Server: Equivalent to Quad Core 2.66 Ghz processor or higher 4GB RAM, 32GB+ System Drive 500GB + Data Drive Raid 1 - 72GB OS partition DVD drive Backup system Server operating system (required): Windows 2008 Server (Standard) 32 bit only Database Platform: SQL Server 2005 Standard edition (included with software purchase) I plan to have four hard-wired workstations running off the server and one or two wireless tablets. I am trying to keep the budget in the $2000 range for the server hardware. Recommendations for specific server hardware as well as RAID configuration and practical daily back-up solution greatly appreciated. Thanks! Quote
FPCH Admin AWS Posted February 5, 2011 FPCH Admin Posted February 5, 2011 I would go with a quad core cpu 8 gigs of ram 40 gig ssd for OS boot second sata 3 had 1 tb That should do it and be way under $2000 for hardware. Quote Off Topic Forum - Unlike the Rest
