losing shortcuts and now apps

for the past 4 days, everytime my laptop sleeps, when I wake it , something

disappears. Day 1, I lost all windows card games, next was internet shortcut,

next email shortcut and today I lost the entire cd/dvd drive, letter and all.

Also System restore is unable to restore to earlier point. NOW WHAT DO I DO?
