Since Vista is running fine and the issues are with XP, this is really not a Vista question. I've cross-posted this to microsoft.public.windowsxp.general for you. In XP, set your computer to not automatically restart so you can get a Stop Error blue screen. Then you can research the Stop Error. System>Advanced>Startup and Recovery>Settings and under System Failure uncheck "Automatically Restart" http://www.aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm - Stop Errors You should also look in XP's Event Viewer for clues. Start>Run>eventvwr.msc [enter] Another useful troubleshooting technique is to do a clean boot in XP to see if something you have running is the culprit.
