Photo preview very slow

Hello all,

About 3 month ago I made a new installation of WinXP SP2 on this computer.

Pentium III 1.6 GHz, 768 MB RAM.

All worked well until a collegue installed google desktop on this computer.

I think it was since then, photo previes is extremely slow. Does not

matter what program is used to view the pictures. She normally uses

xnview, latest version. But als with the windows explorer the preview of

picture are very slow. About same speed on local or network drives.

I removed google desktop, but the speed did not change. All other seem

to work with normal speed.

Have anyone an idea what I could do?
