Hi

I have installed Windows 2008 Enterprise 64 bit. The installation is a standard installation with no other additional software. I shared a folder C:\Shared. When I access the folder from a windows XP machine I have no problems. I can copy or write files to the shared folder from Windows XP. So far so good.

There is a shared application called Scala accounting system we use. This application exe and dlls are stored on the server C:\Shared\Scala folder. A shortcut is created for C:\Shared\Scala\SFW.exe on the Windows XP machine desktop location.

When I open the shortcut from the windows XP desktop it takes too long for the application to load (almost 5 mins). But the same application loads quickly when the SFW.exe is located in another windowsXP machine or WinNT machine.

So I believe it has something to do with Windows 2008 server settings. I initially thought it is due to Firewall running on the server. I turned off firwall for all profiles. But still the problem does not go away.

Please help me.

Cheers
