DVD read after write problem

Hi,

I am having trouble reading DVD+R disks after an apparently successful

write to them under Vista Home Premium. Recently I used a utility to

recover various files after accidentally deleting them and

subsequently emptying the recycle bin. This operation came up with

over 14,000 (~1.76GB) files that I now have to sort through to obtain

the hundred or so that I need.

The directory structure is in place and the disks finalised but the

read lights on both my Pioneer DVD drives just flicker away endlessly.

I begin to wonder then if there is a limit to the number of files

allowed in a directory. I can view the files from the hard drive

without any problem but wish to make permanent copies before I do

something stupid to them once again.
