DPM 2007 Question

I've got two question about DPM2007. Hope someone can help here... (there is

no support in the private forum from ms...)

1. I had to install the dpm protection client on a server manually. (remote

install did not work) i did specify the dpm manger and did reboot the server.

but on the dpm manager, i can't see this server id like to protect... how can

i import a client to the dpm server?

2. I' did made backups from a Protection Group to tape... now i wanna erase

the data on this tape to make it empty... DPM tells me now, i have to Stop

the Protection group... how stupid is that? is there no other possibility to

just erase the tape without stopping the protection group?
