Hi There,

had same problem with updates even not using any domain servers. But

following 5 easy steps worked for me.

 

Step 1:

IE (internet Explorer) > tools > Internet Options

 

Step 2:

Then click "Connections" Tab then click on "Lan settings" Button

 

Step 3:

remove check box for

" Use automatice configuration script "

where you may also have somekind of localhost address with proxy thing in

text box.

 

Step 4:

Select check box for

" Automaticaly detect setting "

 

Step 5:

Click ok.

 

That's all then try to update windows.

 

I did all this and Every thing seems cool sgain now.
