I have a folder in which the files and folders in it have disappeared.

However, they are still there, they are just not showing in Explorer. I know

this for two reasons:

1) if I create a new folder it is named New Folder(x) it will then

disappear. The next New Folder will be named New Folder(x+1) (it will also

disappear). Thus, Explorer obviously knows that these folders are still

there, it just doesn't show them.

2)If I go into Media Player and select Open File Location (these folders

contain mp3's) I can get to the missing folders and I have been able to move

them to another folder but if I try to recreate the sub-folder in the

original folder, it just disappears again.

So, obviously, the files/folders haven't been deleted, they are just somehow

hidden. I have done the obvious by making certain that Folder Options are set

to show hidden, system, and protected files. I have done system-wide searches

for the missing folders to no avail.
