bizarre removable storage errro

Hello

On a Windows 2003 SP1 R2 machine I get an error message when I try to access

the "Removable Storage" MMC snapin in the Computer Managment console. The

error is:

"Access is denied.

This snapin's display may be inconsistent with the Removable Storage

Service. If the problem persists prease restart the snapin."

I am an administrator.

I have restarted the Removeable Storage service

I have searched Google and tried the one suggestion I found there.

How do I restart a snapin?

Have any of you seen this problem? Do you have any suggestions for fixes?
