Hi
I have tried several times to upgrade from Windows 2000 to Windows XP.
During the instal the computer reboots and comes up with an 0x50 stop
error (blue screen) PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

I then backed everything up and did a Full instal (not upgrade) and
the computer starts up fine.

Unfortunately I don't want a full install I want to upgrade my system
as I have loads of programs installed.

Well to me, it proves there is nothing wrong with the memory /
hardware etc if the full install is fine.
Any ideas why I would get the 0x50 on the upgrade path but not full?

Thanks
Justin

Turned out to be a driver. Sisidex.sys. I had to rename this to
sisidex.sys.hide before upgrade and then no more blue screen.
But it turns out the computer ran like a dog after the upgrade so had
to do a full install after all. Much better now.
