In same case in step by step problem I had :



Basic info on my laptop :



System : Microsoft Windows XP

Professional

Version 2002

Service Pack 3

Registered to : SONY

76487-OEM-0027534-38115

Computer : Intel(R) Corel)TM)2 Duo CPU

T5250 @ 1.50GHz

987 MHz, 0.99 GB of RAM

Physical Address Extension



Updating from Microsoft Update site by clicking Windows Update with

'Express, Get high priority', and update info to process : Download size

(total): 15.4 MB, Estimated time at your connection speed: 28 minutes.



1. And update result was :



Some update not installed :

2. After 'Review your Update History' and clicking one of 'filed files sign'

at the new tab screen appear :

3. Result of (Resolution 1):

Resolutions

1. Set Background Intelligent Transfer Service to Automatic and verify the

Status is Started.

Click Start.

Choose Run.

In the Run box, type services.msc. Click OK.

Find the Background Intelligent Transfer Service service, and right-click to

select it.

Select Properties.

In the Startup Type list, select Automatic.

Verify the service Status is Started.

Click OK.



Results : Can't Start Background Intelligent Transfer Service and on Service

said 'Windows could not start the BIT Service on Local Computer. For more

information, reviev the System Event Log. If a non-Microsoft service, contact

the service vendor, and rever to service-specific error code -2147024891'



4. Result of (Resolution 2):

Resolutions

1. Set Event Log service to Automatic and verify that the Status is Started

Click Start.

Choose Run.

In the Run box, type services.msc.

Click OK.

Find the Event Log service, and right-click to select it.

Select Properties.

In the Startup type list, select Automatic.

Verify the Service status is Started.

Click OK.



Result : OK!



But still can't download Update!!!



I tried this solution too about BITS but the result say my laptop no need

the download because my laptop has had latest one.
