XP SP2 thinks my C: (and other hard drives) drive is a file!

It used to be that when I opened My Computer, and double-left-clicked my C:
drive icon, a new window would open, with a listing of all folders and other
stuff on the C: drive. In the past 10 days, though, when I double-left-click
on the C: drive, an "Open With..." dialog box opens, asking me what I want to
"open this file with." In other words, XP seems to think my C: drive is a
file!

When I single-right-click on the C: drive icon, a box opens, with a bolded
"Nothing" as the first choice. Another choice (below) is "Open", and when I
left-click on that, it opens the C: drive just as it used to do when I
double-left-clicked the C: drive icon. So I can "get to" the C: drive, but
this ain't the way it is supposed to work.

Any help would be appreciated.
