Does xp sp2 give back hard drive space after files are deleted & recycle bin
emptied? If not, how can I get that space back? I've deleted many files,
and it doesn't appear to be giving back the space.

Thanks for any info.

Using any Norton Products ? - they include the Norton Protected
Recycle bin, sort of a trash can within another trashcan or delete -
"Are you Sure" then "Are you Really, Really Sure".
Otherwise, deleted files/folders should return their space back to
the Free Space table immediately.

No, I'm completely Norton free after using it 15-20 years. Have heard so
many conflicting opinions on using Norton that I wanted to try it without for
a change.
