Apologies for this re-post but I didn't get an answer that solved the problem
of being asked for a password after my screensaver has kicked in.

To recap:-

The screensaver i'm using "My Picture Slideshow" doesn't require a password.
Screensaver setup "on resume password protect" is not checked.
The "Prompt for password when computer resumes fron standby" on the advanced
tab of power management is not checked.

Despite this I am still being made to enter a password. Any further thoughts?

Her's the link to the previous thread.

Try set to to require a password, apply, and then set it to NOT require
a password. In other words toggle it through a full cycle. ON and back
off again.

Bob,

Thanks but I've tried that, I've even tried changing the registry key for
this from 0 to 1 and from 1 to 0 to simulate this selection/deselection
process.
