XP Sata Raid HDD issues.

[RMF44]

Hi all,
So I've been having trouble with my hard drives and I think I've tracked
down the issue to this little guy here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/329075
Now since I don't use the /3GB switch in my boot.ini the only method open to
me is method 1: Editting ye olde Registry.
Problem is I'm not sure exactly what I should be editing.
The article says to modify
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Storage_Driver_Name\Parameters\Device\NumberOfRequests"
where Storage_Driver_Name is the name of the miniport driver, such as AIC78xx
Well, I'm not quite sure what the Storage_Driver_Name is on mine. I do have
an AIC78xx, but I'm not sure that's the driver used by the drives in question.
I've narrowed it down to either nvatabus or nvraid I think. There is an
AIC78xx there, but from what I understand that comes built into Windows, and
I don't think it's got anything to do with my drives.
Also neither of the registry entries have a
"Parameters\Device\NumberOfRequests" section and I'm somewhat apprehensive
about creating new registry keys in spots I'm not sure about without at least
consulting someone, or, in this case, some forum.

Sporadic "dmio: Harddisk4 write error at block 392784391: status 0xc00000a3"
(error code 30)
"dmio: Disk Harddisk4 block 392784391 (mountpoint W: Uncorrectable write
error" (error code 37)
as described in the knowledge base article referenced.
Furthermore on occasion the CPU workload will suddenly rise to 30-60% while
reading from/writing to the effected disk. Process Explorer cites the source
of the workload as Hardware Interrupts and Deferred Procedure Calls and it
stays at that level perpetually until I reboot.

I note the article refers to win2k / server and dynamic disks.
Have you tried posting to Nvidea forums? there were disk write errors
reported in earlier incarnations of NForce drivers, apparently also certain
makers sata hd's can also give problems on some mobo's.
You have presumably run intensive memory tests.
