I have a dell XPS 210 desktop. 2 ram, 250 hd. not half full. I believe I got it in '06. XP
I have been trying out purchased live cd's.
Puppy Precise
Puppy Slacko
PC Linux OS
Lubuntu
Linux Lite (on dell mini, booted with usb)
My desktop will only boot with CD

I love them all, BUT, EVERYONE has problems! Puppy and PC: mouse freezes, the cursor freezes but the mouse works if you can figure out where it is on the screen.
Lubuntu has NO Sound.
Linux Lite, had to get the drivers going and works fine but sound is very low, no volume control. I boot this up on my mini dell 10 with a usb.

If they dont work on live boot, why would I want to install them??? If I knew the Puppy Would not freeze up after 2 min I would go ahead and dual boot that one.

I have an old laptop that a friend installed Ubuntu 10 a few years ago and have never ever had any trouble with it. Now understand, I dont go into the 'guts' of the computer. I just watch videos, live stream church, surf, email, facebook. Dont ever mess with the terminal. I want my desk top to be just as good as the old laptop.
Any ideas why they are freezing after 2 min booted up??

thank you for your help,
pam
