XP Pro does not reboot and crashes on shutdown

Hello everybody,


I have XP Pro fully updated on a DELL VOSTRO 1510 and I'm experiencing two different issues.


1- if I try to restart the computer everything seems to work fine but, once the monitor has turned black, the machine does not restart. It looks like it is in suspension mode, the fan starts and stops from time to time, and the POWER led is still on. There is no way to wake it up or shut it down though, unless I force a stop by keeping the power button pressed for several seconds. When I restart the pc, it works perfectly and there are no errors listed in the registry.


2- If I shut it down I often get a BSOD with the following info
