Hi there,

Just installed a fresh copy of XP on a 'new' motherboard Supermicro p4sca.
When shutdown the machine, it keeps restarting itself.

Went to check bios settings, will not allow me to exit, when in any options
which was fine, I would used ESC to get out but when it comes to exit,
whether I typed in Y or N for saving, the whole machine just frozen and need
to ALT + CTRL + DEL to restart the machine.

The machine definitely is not overheat, am I missing something here and the
xp just keep running ?

I suspect a "hardware" problem with the BIOS/motherboard. If you can't
save changed BIOS settings then you will call the vendor for problem
resolution.

Try power off (unplug),remove battery, locate the CMOS jumper pin & move
it from 1-2 to 2-3 position for .30 seconds or so,then back to 1-2,replace
battery,start pc.On starting,enter BIOS,set date/time,etc,load optimal
defaults,
then reset for add ons, etc, save & exit BIOS.The restarting is 99% hardware
conflict(s),& the CMOS reset is a simple function, actually all new MBs should
have the end user do before running...

More nonsense from the troll Andrew E. You've got your dosages mixed up
again. The OP should follow Bob I.'s advice.
