HELP !!!

I cannot get this website to let me post a new thread, so I feel the same
way about Windows XP.

My problem is this: I seem to have lost Windows Explorer. Whenever I try to
open My Computer from the desktop, or open any of the drives from My Computer
on the menu, all that happens is that the desktop resets itself. I cannot
look at anything in My Computer. I have tried restoring XP to two weeks ago
(when everything WAS working) to no avail. I have tried re-installing XP from
the installation CD - no help.

Does anyone have any ideas ???

you might try
testing your
browsing with
another browser
like netscape or
firefox or both.

next you might
also want to boot
into safemode with
networking and
take a second look
at browsing.

System Restore is not provided as a recovery tool. It is intended as an
occasionally used tool to remove misbehaving drivers.

It seems most likely that you have been infected with a virus, or some
sort of malware or adware.

Get a proper virus checker, and something like AdAware and SpyBot Search
and Destroy. Make sure it is SpyBot *Search and Destroy* and not another
product called SpyBot.

When you say that you tried reinstalling XP from the CD, what happened?

Cheers,

Cliff
