I have a Fellows Internet Touchpad and I am using XP. It utilizes the
Cirque SmartCat driver Version 2.2. Although the touchpad is working
correctly, when I go to the Control Panel and select "Mouse", the
options window which comes up is the Microsoft Serial Mouse option
window instead of the Cirque options window. It appears that the
correct drivers are being used to drive the device. When I first
installed XP, the correct option window came up. Somewhere along the
way, I think it was after some windows updates were installed, the
incorrect option window started coming up. I have uninstalled the
Cirque drivers and reinstalled them several times and the problem will
not go away. I have run a trace on registry accesses during the
opening of the window and found that rundll32.exe does locate the dll
for the "MousePropSheet", then does not use it for some reason. I also
have another install of XP on my E drive for recovery purposes which
brings up the correct option window. Does anyone have any ideas about
what is wrong and how to correct it?

Found out what the problem was. A Microsoft update caused the Cirque
Option panel to be locked out. I found a patch on the Cirque website
which fixed the problem.
