I have two machines with two different editions of WinXP Home.
One of the editions was purchased with a hard drive from a "computer store"
and I had to add SP2, the other was purchased off the shelf at a BigBox and
was SP2. Both are GENUINE since Mr. Gates and friends up-dates them both
frequently.
QUESTIONS?????
While working from a C:\ prompt; the BigBox edition gives me a neat list of
directories
and even points out they are directories. = <DIR> . I can do a "cd name "and
ENTER and get to that directory and drill down through the directory and get
to files;
however the "computer store edition" at "dir" shows
d---------- 0 Name
When I do a "cd Name" I am told Access denied.
1. Any ideas why the two versions show the directories so differently?
2. Any ideas why I would be denied access?
Thanks
Xan
