Google has purchased Quest Visual, the company behind Word Lens, an app that translates text in the world using the iPhone's camera. The technology from Word Lens is expected to be incorporated into Google Translate. The Word Lens language packs will be made free during the transition to Google, according to the Quest Visual website:

As a thank you to everybody who supported us on our journey, we've made both the app and the language packs free to download for a limited time while we transition to Google.

Word Lens is currently available for iOS, Android, and Google Glass. Interestingly, the app was recently featured in Apple's "Powerful" ad. Do you use Word Lens, and how do you feel about the company going to Google? Sound off below in the comments.
