please can anyone tell me how i can find "file"( i am looking for Twain) menu
as i want to import from my scanner and i cannot find out how to do this.

The "Open", "Save", and "Print" commands appear when you click the
"orb" on the top left. I suspect that there's no "import from scanner"
command anywhere unless you have a scanner installed, which I don't.
But you might find it on the "Insert" tab of the ribbon, maybe in the
"Illustrations" group.

yes i do have a scanner but i need to load via twain import via word 2007 as
i did with word 2003
