I've attempted to install Windows8 as upgrade from WinXP. Upgrade Assistant said the Dell Optiplex machine could handle the upgrade.
However, installation seems to be stuck in a reboot loop, showing a choice of Win8 or WinSetup, with a message saying "Windows 8 will run automatically in 30 seconds." Following the countdown, it "reboots" to same screen.
I was alerted to expect several restarts and extended time. This loop has been going on for 3+ hours now, though.
Should I assume the installation is stuck and isn't going to work. I don't even know how to get out of the loop.
