hello,
i have read alot of info about syncing a mobile phone to pc with bluetooth,
but get more and more confused. so far i have a bluetooth enabled phone
(motorola v3m) and have downloaded mpt v4.5.6a. i have been able to get the
pc and phone to communicate via usb cable, but motorola or verizon or both
will not provide multimedia exchange options in mpt. just for the heck of it
i tried to connect phone via bluetooth, enabled the phone, and opened mpt on
pc, changed the "method of connection" dialogue box from usb cable to
bluetooth connection. now mpt tries to find phone and of course it won't
because i've come to realize the pc must be set up for bluetooth
connectivity as well, but on a hope full note the multimedia button has
appeared on the mpt interface(but all the buttons are grayed out until the
phone can initialize- which isn't happening because i do not have the pc set
up for bluetooth.) so i search google and ask dot com and read and read ,
found instructions how to basically do everything that i kinda figured out
by experimenting, but the article slip right over the pc-bluetooth issue.
they all start with "opening the bluetooth wizard on the pc.." so i guess my
question (after all this) is what do i need to do/get to have the bluetooth
wizard option on the pc?
thanks in advance for any direction, pete

Do you have a Bluetooth dongle ? That is what I have to put into the USB
port so it will communicate with my phone in Bluetooth mode.

Not all computers have external bluetooth Solutions. Some (like Apples and
Dells) will include a Bluetooth solution at the factory.

The "dongle" Joan refers to is a "mini-USB Bluetooth Receiver", and is required
if one has no factory Bluetooth solution for his computer. They are usually
included with your Bluetooth devices. And the necessary software is usually
included on a CD when you buy the devices.

This Dongle is obviously a "hardware" item, while the necessary software drivers
are software.

It is actually a piece of hardware, mine is blue and a smaller version of a
USB Flash drive. It comes with a CD that contains the software to install
drivers to be able to use it with my phone when in Bluetooth mode.
