Windows XP won't reboot after installing SP2

Hi all, I have an older machine running XP home. When I install
SP2 then it won't reboot.It tries but fails,then take me to the windows
boot page. It will boot in all safe modes.Any and all help will be
appreciated.
I am only a little knowlagable about computers.

It probably means a driver needs updating
Try your video driver first, from the manufacturers site or if large OEM eg
Dell / HP, or Laptop from that makers site
Do NOT use winupdate

Some PCs were incompatible with SP-2.

Check the PC maker's support website for information about whether yours is
one of them, and how to successfully install SP-2.
