My machine is booting up and going directly to desktop, skipping the login
process? Anyone know why this happening? Could it be the result of a recent
update of windows?

Hi Steve,

What version of XP are you running? Do you have any programs installed
that clean your Windows Registry?

I have XP Professional. And I don't have any programs that clean the registry
that I am aware of....

Hi Steve,

Check out this program.
http://www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/ You can download a
fully-functioning 30-day Trial version of the program, called TuneUp
Utilities 2007.

Run the TuneUp Registry Cleaner after running the TuneUp DiskCleaner
under Clean up and Repair. See if it doesn't improve performance.

Also download and run the BelArc Advisor 7.2v from
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html and see if all hotfixes installed
must muster and are installed correctly.
