I am getting a "Incorrect Function" error on both of my DVD-RW drives on Windows XP. I have been investigating the issue for a few days now and have come up empty handed.

1. I have tried deleting the Upper/Lower filters in the registry. This helped make sure they are detected but nothing else.

2. I have tried updating drivers for both drives via firmware update. This made them show as DVDRW drives instead of just CD drives but I still don't have burning capability.

3. I have tried editing the registry in order to see a "Recording" tab on the drive properties. Even after that edit, the tab never appears. I tried to alternate between settings (1, 2, or 3) between each of the two drives but it makes no difference in whatever combination.

4. I have run various "Fix-Its", including one that claimed both drives were not capable of burning. See #4.

4. I've tested both drives with third party software and they work great as burners. However, the vendor I am working with requires that Windows be able to do the burning. I've worked with them and they insist the problem is on my end and haven't proven very useful. I'm going to assume it is Windows and not their own software that's the problem.

Any help would be appreciated.
