I am using Windows XP with sp3.
Recently security center icon has lodged on system tray.
How do I get rid of it?
Thanks.

From where did you get WinXP SP3, please?

There is no SP3 for XP unless you have downloaded the betaware version -
there are SP3's for some Office applications.

Do you mean the yellow MS shield?

There is no SP3 for Windows XP yet. If you installed anything called
SP3, you're either running beta software and are part of the beta
program or you installed something unknown. If you are part of the beta
program, you should be reporting what you see through the established
channels.

Click on the Security Center icon and see what it says is the problem so
you can rectify the issue.

No you're not. SP3 hasn't been released yet.

I get the shield constantly. I click on it and it
just goes away. No message nothing.

And what is Security Center telling you?

But you're not the original poster, are you? So your experience isn't
necessarily germane.
