Wouldn't boot as it said it had lost operating system. I have the Windows XP disc and key from my last computer that was replaced by this one when it's CPU died a couple of months ago. But the replacement computer has a completely different key code on the side of it. I reloaded in booting in to set up with the disc I had, but neither codes work...not the one that came with the disc or the one that was originally on the computer.
Please note that I can not get the computer on the net as it is stuck in set up waiting for the key, and I also can not coast around the computer doing anything requires the operating system to be up and running, so advice for either options is mote. My only option is starting from any key option available right before it jumps into setup.
Please please help me as I'm an utter pleb and as much as I have read enough this arvo to understand it is likely a conflict between the two different types of XP versions, I need a way out of this with the limited key options I have at hand
