I shutdown my computer 3 months ago and put it in storage. I recently just took it out because I was concerned about moisture. So I started the computer up about a week after I got it out. It will boot, go to the window XP screen and than reboot. It continualy does this and than I finally get to a screen that allows me to do safe mode. I select safe mode and once my desk top comes up it stays up for about 20 seconds and than the computer goes back to reboot. What is going on here? I need help trying to figure out this problem. Any suggestions?

If it was in the garage, there is a possibility that the machine was constantly exposed to cold and warm extremes creating condesation inside the hard drive.this can leave little "SPOTS" on the drive that the PC can't read.

You COULD try booting it into the recovery console and running a checkdisk on it, or perhaps you MIGHT have to simply rebuild/rewrite the registry, in which case you could follow THESE instructions: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307545
