I just installed Windows XP SP3 and updated up to the current version, and got all the optional updates as well. The last update I installed was a set of optional updates. It was working fine before the updates, but now its stuck in 4 bit color, and 640x480.
I can change the sliders, but it refuses to change the settings. I can actually move the resolution slider all the way up to 65,000 pixels, but it never actually changes the resolution.
This is now the second computer this has happened to.
Why does this happen, and what do I need to do to fix it?
