Description of Problem:

Recently my computer got the pop up saying that Windows XP was no longer going to be supported. A day later a pop up said I needed to reactive my copy of Windows XP within 3 days. I reactivated it over the phone, and immediately afterwards I realized I couldn't connect to the internet anymore, whereas just before reactivation I could. Also the start bar changed to look like the windows95 startbar after reactivation.

Steps Taken to troubleshoot Internet Connection:

I right clicked on My Computer and went to Device Manager, to try to see Network Adapter but Device Manager was empty

I tried to create a new network connection for internet but that didn't work either. The steps I followed was : New Connection Wizard > Connect to the Internet > Connect using a broadband connection that is always on. On the last step Connect using a dial up phone , and Connect with broadband that requires username and password were greyed out.

Is there another way to create an internet connection?

Thanks!
